My Weekend So Far

I woke up early this morning and went to dim sum with my parents, which is usually fun because that's the only time we ever get to talk about non-work related topics. Today was a rare exception. Little did I know that they were going to try to set me up. I don't mind the idea, but we seem to have very different ideas about suitable mates. Apparently, they are shallower than I am.

When I got home, I took my dogs on a long  walk. They love to run, and watching them gallop on their tiny legs is hilarious. The exercise made them much more amenable to sitting quietly as I worked on my firm website. I still need to put up profile pictures of Tovia and I, but I spent a while registering our firm and website on a bunch various social networking sites such as Yelp, Google Local Search, and the Yellow Pages. You never know where a lead can come from, right?

I finally got bored of that so I watched the last four episodes from the season 2 of Mad Men as well as the season 3 premiere. It's a very well-done show. However, at its heart, Mad Men is a soap opera. Just review the plot. (Spoilers obviously follow.) Dick Whitman fakes his own death to become the studly Don Draper. Betty Draper is driven to psychosis by her husband's philandering. Ambitious little beaver Peggy Olsen has a love child with that heel Pete Campbell, whose wife turns out to be infertile. Joan Holloway is date-raped by her Dr. McDreamy. A married Sal is in the closet. So to conclude this paragraph, I spent five hours today watching a prime time soap opera. Yay, me!

My dogs then wanted to go walking again so I took them out. I happened to miss the Yankees game, which turned out to be a good thing because they lost. By a large margin. So that was my weekend so far.
