Perry Wants Military To Overthrow Obama
In an article for NewsMax, John L. Perry predicts that the military will overthrow President Obama. In Perry's estimation, military officers are so disgusted with Obama that there would be a groundswell of support within their to get rid of the President. Apparently, socialism is such a risk that martial law is preferred. So John Perry says that American military officers who swore to defend the Constitution would overthrow a democratically-elected President. Of course, it's all poppycock, and Perry is insane for thinking such things, but it is interesting insight into how the right wing works.
John Perry says that there will be a "bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars." Not to cast any aspersions on the military, but recent experience has shown that they are not trained or configured to act as a police force or nation-builders. If Perry had been paying attention, he might have realized this.
Interestingly, by this point in George W. Bush's presidency, he already had apologized to the Chinese and allowed 9/11 to occur. The military didn't have a problem with that. Why now? Politics, it seems.
Perry challenges us to think of an "alternative, non-violent solution to the Obama problem." I actually can think of two such solutions to any perceived Obama problem. One takes place in 2012, assuming martial law hasn't been declared, and the other is called impeachment. But you can forgive John Perry for being unfamiliar with those mechanisms. After all, he is a conservative, and these mechanisms are described in the Constitution.
I will conclude by noting that John L. Perry fashions himself to be a "prize-winning newspaper editor and writer." Someone should really tell him that every Crackerjacks box has a prize. It was cute when it started, but this has obviously gone to his head.
